Application Window Open date: October 23, 2024 Most recent review date: Monday, Dec 23, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Apr 23, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist - He Lab The He lab, a newly established lab in the Department of Pathology at UCSF, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled computer scientist/bioinformatician to join as a Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist to lead or support cross-disciplinary projects involving single-cell and spatial transcriptomics and epigenomics. Our previous work has leveraged in-house computational approaches to build cell atlases of developing human tissues with unprecedented resolutions (Mouse limb atlas, human limb atlas, human lung atlas, human lung immune atlas). As the scales of data increases and the spatial and multiomic technologies advance, more sensitive discoveries can be made with more optimized computational methods. Our lab is diligently working on developing creative models and algorithms to solve key problems in tissue heterogeneity and cell fate decision, as well as on synthesizing first-hand ground-truth annotations to guide the algorithm development. Area of Specialization / Responsibilities: We are interested in candidates who are familiar with data science and reproducible research workflows with good mathematical instinct / programming habit. The successful candidate will be supporting routine data processing tasks from internal and external collaborators or/and driving independent algorithm development projects to advance their career.
