  • This is a temporary, full-time, hourly paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete.This position is not available for remote work.
  • Work will be both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.Outside the office, standard work wear will consist of hard hats, safety boots, safety glasses and ear plugs, with other items as needed; these items will be provided
  • Location: Aurora, North Carolina
  • Term (6 months):Dates can be adjusted/extended to coincide with school terms.

    • Fall 2025- June 2to December 19





What you will do:



  • Assist the Process Safety Management department with various duties, including:


  • Project work developingPSM program strategies and goals for continuous improvement of the site's PSM performance and compliance with corporate PSM standards.
  • Conduct PSM activities to ensuretechnical support to the Operations, Maintenance and Engineering departments.
  • Provide support for site's PSM training to the Training department, including development and review of training content
  • Ensureaccurate and timely record keeping and reporting for PSM leading and lagging indicators
  • Supervisesite'sFacility Siting updates and initiate follow-up corrective actions as needed
  • Assistin compliance with RAGAGEP (recognized and generally accepted good engineering practice)
  • Stay abreast of new and pending PSM regulations and creative technologies that would aid in improving the PSMprocess
  • Participate in local community activities and programs affecting PSM, in professional organizations, and in civic and governmental groups as a Nutrienrepresentative
  • Perform engineering calculations and studies asrequired in areas including safety, environmental, and process
  • Assist withincident investigations (Taproot) for process safety incidents and provide leadership for the site's Management of Change (MOC) program
  • Assist with operational risk assessment studies as well as process hazards assessments for design changes


What you will bring:



  • Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 1 year of an undergraduatedegree in Process Safety, Chemical Engineering or equivalent related program at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Demonstrate positive safety behavior and leadership
  • Willingness to learn and gain knowledge and experience through training
  • Strong interpersonal teamwork and communication skills
  • Motivation to set and achieve goals, take initiative, and nurture project forward
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must be able to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to hear and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft's Office Suite


Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $23.62-27.09 USD per hour. This range is estimated for this position located in Geismar, LA.Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes catastrophic coverages including life, accidental death and dismemberment, and business travel accident insurance for a position of at least three months in duration and more than 30 hours per week. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid sick days and holidays as well as an Employee and Family Assistance Program. A Student or Intern role does not participate in any retirement savings or incentive programs. Nutrien will comply with benefit and retirement regulations, as necessary. Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process.
