Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Talent includes over 500 engineers across global centers in Israel, China, India, and the US. Each CoE contributes not just talent and deliverables per discipline toward product programs, but also subject matter expertise, best practices, roadmaps, specialized facilities, apparatus, models, and analytics. What you will be doing:

  • Model, design, and/or build high performance linear and rotary motion systems.
  • Develop, build, and control mechatronics hardware.
  • Analyze and design solutions to machine dynamics and vibration challenges.
  • Use model-based design techniques to build predictive performance models.
  • Help with concept generation, solving problems, and customer concerns.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Master's or PhD in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with high precision mechanical hardware is required.
  • Experience in either precision machine design or motion control is required.
  • Knowledge of vibrations, dynamics, and control system modeling is ideal.
  • Experience doing finite element analysis
  • Understanding of multifaceted system modeling and feedback control systems.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB or LabVIEW and Python.
  • Enjoy hands-on challenges, collaboration, and delivering great results.
  • Experience with CAD and a passion for design.
  • Willingness for occasional domestic and international travel dependent on business needs (not to exceed 20%).

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree and related work experience of 6 years; or PhD and related work experience of 3 years
