Description Acara Solution is looking for a Senior Buyer for one of our clients in Phoenix, AZ. This is a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients. Schedule: 1st shift: Monday-Friday 7:30pm-4pm Salary: $80,000-$100,000 Position Summary The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing purchasing activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, production supplies, and outside services necessary to support manufacturing operations. This individual will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Accounting to ensure materials are available when needed, supplier performance meets expectations, and purchasing activities support production schedules and company objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and experience working with MRP and ERP systems. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including reviewing requisitions, preparing purchase orders, and monitoring deliveries. Review MRP requirements, inventory levels, and production schedules to determine purchasing needs. Purchase raw materials, machined components, tooling, supplies, and outside processing services. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements. Identify and develop relationships with new suppliers while maintaining existing vendor partnerships. Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, and delivery. Work closely with Production and Planning to prevent material shortages and production delays. Identify cost-saving opportunities and strategies to reduce purchasing expenses. Monitor inventory levels and help minimize excess and obsolete inventory. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation in SAP Business One. Coordinate with Quality regarding supplier issues, material certifications, and nonconforming materials. Support compliance with company purchasing procedures and applicable AS9100 requirements. Job Requirements Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience purchasing raw materials, machined components, and outside processing services. Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management, and production planning. Demonstrated experience negotiating pricing and managing supplier relationships. Experience with ERP systems; SAP Business One preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in CNC machining, aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing. Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM certification is a plus.
