Woodworker - Sumner, WA Position Description: The Woodworker fabricates and repairs crates, pallets, and storage bins constructed from linear lumber and/or plywood. This position builds new crates, pallets, and storage bins using pre-existing cut lists or by fabricating custom crate/pallets around specific materials. The Woodworker may use tools such as, but not limited to rulers, tape measures, hand and power tools, pneumatic nail/staple guns, band saw, and table saws to build crates and related products. This position may also pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers in accordance with job specifications. The Woodworker will perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor. Job Qualifications and Skills: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of two years related work experience Ability to operate tools such as but not limited to hand and power tools, pneumatic nail/staple guns, band saw, and table saws in a safe and efficient manner. Read and follow established cut list and document/create cut list for new items. Required to lift and carry up to 70 pounds Ability to be forklift and/or crane certified by company trainer. Ability to learn GDLS processes, products and military technology Must be able to work efficiently, in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment at times with limited supervision. Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and written) and interact with internal and external customers Ability to work flexible hours in a warehouse environment Work in all weather conditions and in extreme temperatures (cold and hot) Must be a US Citizen Must be able to travel based on the needs of the business and able to gain access to miliary installations. Must be able to obtain and retain U.S. passport Must be able to obtain and maintain a General Dynamics Corporate credit card. Position Hourly Rate: $33.69 per hour Position Incentive: Hired applicant may be eligible to receive an annual bonus.
