Senior Design Engineer

Cianbro is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role applies advanced engineering knowledge to perform complex analyses, develop design solutions, and support project execution. This role serves as a technical resource to project teams, provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers, and helps ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to engineering standards. The wage range for this position is $2,1000.00 to $2,400.00 per week. Compensation will be determined based on knowledge and experience.

This role may be based in Falmouth, Maine (preferred) or Pittsfield, Maine.

Job Responsibilities

• Independently develop final design drawings, calculations, and engineering deliverables.
• Prepare engineering submittal packages, including supporting and reference documentation.
• Review design drawings and calculations by others.
• Supervise and/or mentor junior engineers.
• Meet with internal clients to develop scopes of work for design tasks and project needs.
• Provide engineering support to internal clients, including planning, development, and estimating activities.
• Apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices across a broad range of assignments and related disciplines.
• Adhere to applicable engineering standards, codes, and ethical practices.
• Continue developing expertise in construction engineering principles and practices, including structural analysis, support of excavation, crane planning and rigging, cofferdams, steel erection, pile driving and hammer selection, demolition, and related engineering topics.
• Participate in professional organizations, including local chapter or committee involvement.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or an engineering-related field.
• 10+ years of engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• Working knowledge of construction engineering principles, methods, and industry standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, and RISA, or similar design software.
• Strong CAD skills including solid modeling.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
