Partnering with Aquent, you have an incredible opportunity to join a pioneering technology leader at the absolute forefront of artificial intelligence innovation. In this role, your work will directly shape the future of intelligent systems, creating a profound global impact by making complex AI technologies more intuitive, trustworthy, and human-centered. As a key builder of foundational data systems, you will drive rapid prototyping and model tuning that redefines how millions of users interact with cutting-edge AI every day.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary, hands-on engineering expert to join a dynamic team dedicated to building transformative AI experiences. In this pivotal role, you will design and evolve modern, intelligent systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners to drive data experiments and AI explorations that push the limits of technology. If you thrive on translating evolving ideas into maintainable services, building scalable backend systems, and exploring uncharted technical territories, this is your chance to establish reliable foundations for thoughtful product experiences worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and evolve synthetic data-generation systems, assessing technical trade-offs to develop scalable, reproducible workflows.
  • Build and operate scalable pipelines and orchestration workflows, applying concurrency, asynchronous execution, and resilient failure handling.
  • Design data models, storage approaches, and retrieval patterns to support large data volumes and efficient access.
  • Develop validation frameworks and systems to define quality criteria, automate checks, and use quantitative analysis to drive performance improvements.
  • Apply cloud engineering practices to build, deploy, monitor, and support dependable systems while balancing scalability and cost.
  • Collaborate on practical solutions, maintain clear documentation, and create automated tests to support ongoing system ownership.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of software or data engineering experience, with strong coding skills in languages such as Python, Spring Boot, or .NET.
  • Robust backend programming and systems engineering skills, including designing maintainable services, modular components, APIs, and automated tests.
  • Deep experience designing, building, and operating data generation, ETL, and distributed data-processing workflows in the cloud.
  • Strong working understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), including their capabilities, limitations, failure modes, prompting, and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of orchestration, concurrency, asynchronous execution, and event-driven architectures.
  • Solid understanding of large-scale data storage, modeling, retrieval, partitioning, and indexing.
  • Strong quantitative analytical and troubleshooting skills to validate data and make evidence-based engineering decisions.
  • Practical cloud engineering experience and the ability to work independently within an existing codebase.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Demonstrated expertise using Python for complex data engineering solutions.
  • Experience integrating LLMs through AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs for production-oriented workflows.
  • Proven experience designing and running evaluations of LLM output, including defining quality criteria and building automated checks.
  • Extensive experience with distributed processing, streaming, and workflow orchestration tools (such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or equivalent) along with relational/NoSQL databases and data lakes.
  • Experience with observability, performance tuning, and deployment automation in production environments.
  • Exceptional ability to translate evolving requirements into robust, maintainable solutions within an existing codebase.
