The Junior Specialist will use math, physics, and chemistry to establish and apply technical workflows for problems related to mechanics of materials. Analyze materials and mechanics using finite element methods. Relate and interface finite element methods to digital volume correlation. Build and validate hierarchical and correlative microspectroscopy workflows. Run experiments at the synchrotron facilities. Analyze large data sets from different imaging modalities, and build correlative models, and communicate science. Effective communication skills that will reinforce reliable teamwork, effective/efficient organization of data from team members, and efficient time management.

Required Qualifications:

• Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience with use of microspectroscopy correlative workflows specifically with synchrotron technologies.

See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $57,000-$60,700.
