The Role:

Work Model: On-site

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours (average 40 hrs/week, with overtime as required)

Travel Requirements: None

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, oversight of 1-4 employees

Reports to: Market Manager, Pricing

Summary / Primary Role:

The Quoting Supervisor oversees the daily activities of the Quoting Coordinators and Quoting Administrator, ensuring accurate and timely pricing processes and adherence to established company policies and procedures. This role provides leadership, training, and operational support while also performing hands-on pricing and quotation entry as needed.

We're looking for a detail-oriented leader who can guide a small team through accurate, timely pricing while staying hands-on with the work themselves.

  • Manage the daily activities of Quoting Coordinators and Administrators, providing training, coaching, and ongoing guidance to team members.
  • Maintain rating tools in alignment with management direction.
  
  
  
  

• Quote Review & Pricing Execution
  
  
  
  • Review spot quote requests submitted by Coordinators for accuracy and compliance, researching and validating pricing discrepancies and disputes.
  • Enter and execute rate quotes accurately and efficiently using a cradle-to-grave approach, providing coverage as needed.
  
  
  
  

• Communication & Customer Service
  
  
  
  • Process incoming instructions through all approved communication channels, returning unrated or unclear instructions to the appropriate party for clarification.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external customer email inquiries.
  
  
  
  
• Process Improvement & Special Projects
  
  
  
  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and improvement of pricing procedures and processes, and assist with General Rate Increase (GRI) activities.
  • Participate in internal initiatives, projects, and systems testing.
  
  
  
  

What You Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain, or business is a plus
• Prior experience in pricing, quoting, freight rating, or logistics operations; supervisory or team lead experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and lead others effectively, with strong organizational skills for managing workload and documentation
• Strong mathematical skills, including calculations supporting profit-margin targets, weight and measurement conversions, and financial conversions; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and TruckMate
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills in environments with limited standardization

• Knowledge of the ocean freight industry and the Jones Act is preferred but not required

Compensation & Schedule Details:

Base Pay Range: $75,000 to $90,000 annually

Bonus Eligible: Yes

Commission Eligible: No
