Position Description
| Primary Purpose and Essential Functions |
The School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track (
NTT) faculty position in Construction Engineering, with an anticipated start date of January 2027. The appointment may be made as a Lecturer or at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice rank, commensurate with the candidate's education, professional experience, teaching experience, and other relevant qualifications. The appointment is expected to extend from Spring 2027 through Spring 2028. The teaching workload will be equivalent to seven (7) courses per academic year, prorated over the term of the appointment, and may be distributed across:
- Undergraduate and graduate teaching in areas such as: construction management, project planning and scheduling, cost estimation and control, construction methods and materials, surveying
- Course and curriculum development, including development of new courses aligned with industry needs.
- Program development and support, particularly strengthening connections between Civil Engineering and Engineering Management programs.
- Student advising and mentoring, including support for student projects, competitions, and career preparation.
- Engagement with industry partners, including experiential learning opportunities.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- MS in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of Relevant industry experience in construction or project management.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Professional licensure (e.g., PE) or industry certifications.
- Five (5) years of Full-time industry experience and decision-making responsibilities in the construction industry or project management.
- Prior teaching experience in construction engineering or management topics.
- A demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary education across civil engineering, construction engineering, and engineering management.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

This is an in-person role, and the successful candidate must be willing to relocate within California, preferably within 25 miles of the Stockton Pacific campus.
Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using a computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Work is performed during standard hours; Additional hours may be required to meet business needs or deadlines. |
| Hiring Range |
$75,000 - $85,000 per year. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. |
