Business Manager I

The Business Manager provides comprehensive fiscal and operational support to ensure effective financial management and business processes within Student Health and Wellbeing units, including Lafene Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Cat's Cupboard, and the Morrison Family Center for Student Well-being. This position is responsible for developing and managing budgets, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory standards. The role demonstrates proficiency in financial planning, work design, and project management to enhance operational efficiency and support strategic goals. The incumbent supervises financial staff, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring accurate, timely execution of fiscal responsibilities. Acting as a key liaison between departmental leadership and university financial offices, this position plays a critical role in advancing the mission of student health and wellbeing through sound fiscal stewardship and process improvement.

Lafene Health Center provides students with accessible, high-quality, and affordable outpatient healthcare, focusing on keeping students healthy and promoting a healthy campus community. Care is provided by board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing professionals, ensuring students receive the same high-quality care they would expect from their healthcare providers at home. Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience. Education beyond the minimum degree requirement may count toward required experience if deemed relevant by the hiring manager. This degree requirement ensures candidates possess the financial, administrative and analytical skills essential for managing complex departmental operations, including budgeting, policy development and purchasing oversight. These competencies are typically developed and rigorously validated through the comprehensive curriculum and experiential learning inherent in a formal degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in finance, accounting or other relative area
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience collaborating across departments.
