The Maintenance Technician (Second shift) is responsible for performing evaluation and preventative and corrective maintenance, including immediate repairs on a variety of equipment utilized in the production process. Works with Production leadership, Product, Process, Quality, and Test engineers on multiple product lines supporting both commercial and Government products. Provides first line of support to production floor to troubleshoot, repair, and establish preventative maintenance priority on manufacturing equipment as necessary Assists in monitoring, evaluating, or improving the performance of all manufacturing equipment through maintenance Controls departmental records on equipment maintenance, repairs, training, and calibration. Ensure that equipment complies with departmental and company standards Assists in evaluating perishable tooling, mean time between failure data, and communicates needs for updates as well as modifications for such Maintains machine parts and tooling inventory Support engineering continuous improvement efforts Provides assistance in determining root cause, and systematically solves issues on equipment and end product, aiding engineers, other technicians, and operators Requirements Associate's degree degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or vocational certificate in a technical program Minimum two years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly environment; experience with Printed Circuit Board SMT process development/support and X-ray equipment used with electronic assemblies preferred Good working knowledge of Mechanical and Electronic processes Skilled in problem solving techniques and methods (process, product, procedure); experience with continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing preferred Working knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical operations/systems with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics Familiarity with work standards and visual manufacturing instructions May require handling or exposure to chemicals used in the production area Continuous standing during daily support initiatives; occasional lifting and moving of material and fixtures over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds; infrequent movement of equipment with casters in excess of 100 pounds Strong interpersonal skills and team building skills Strong MS Office skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to obtain a US Government granted security clearance, if necessary Sypris Electronics, LLC provides goods and services to the U.S. Government and other prime contractors and is obligated by its contracts with those entities, as well as by various federal laws and regulations regarding security and export control, to restrict access to certain goods, services, and/or any related information.
