Medical Lab Technician I

Location: 3420 Saint Vardell Lane, Suite B, Charlotte, NC 28217

Duration: 3+ months

Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM

• Experience performing manual differentials
• Experience performing manual urine microscopy
• Experience with the following instrumentation preferred:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

• Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet applicable local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
• Minimum 1-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
• State Medical Technician license may be required, if applicable.
• ASCP or AMT preferred but not required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening.
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
