Senior Certified Medical Assistant AHN/Optum - Marsh Road INIndianapolis, Indiana
About the RoleAmerican Health Network (AHN), part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking an experienced Senior Certified Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver high-quality patient care in a collaborative outpatient setting. This role combines direct patient care, laboratory support, administrative responsibilities, and procedural assistance while helping ensure a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients, obtain medical histories, document concerns, and record vital signs in the EMR.
- Prepare exam rooms, assist providers during patient visits and procedures, and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
- Perform routine in-scope clinical procedures, patient education, prescription processing, and follow-up communications.
- Conduct CLIA-waived testing, collect and process specimens, perform phlebotomy, and accurately document laboratory activities.
- Coordinate referrals, manage patient records, process paperwork, and support insurance pre-certifications.
- Maintain safety, quality, compliance, and infection-control standards while supporting practice initiatives and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- 5+ years of AHN/Optum experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Exemplary clinical skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with providers as part of a care team.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $18.00 - $32.00 per hour
