N/C Turning Equipment Operator (CNC / Water Jet) - Weekend Nights Position Overview ATI is seeking an experienced N/C Turning Equipment Operator (CNC / Water Jet) to join our Cudahy, WI facility on weekend night shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 PM-6:00 AM. In this critical role you will support our industrial water jet operation, loading forged components into the water jet and operate the equipment according to established specifications. Training will take place on 1st shift for approximately 60-90 days, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM. Following training, you will transition to the weekend night schedule, working 36 hours while being paid for 40 hours. What You'll Do
- Set up and operate industrial water jet cutting equipment to cut and remove material from forged components.
- Follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and established machining requirements to ensure parts are processed correctly.
- Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional requirements.
- Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and gauges to verify proper setup and completed work.
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance with specifications and quality requirements.
- Follow all established safety procedures while working around high-pressure equipment, machinery, and large forged components.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements Basic Qualifications
- CNC operation experience
- Setup experience on horizontal or vertical lathes
- Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension
- The ability to read instructions and perform simple measurements is critical.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Production Machine Operator Training Program or 3-5 years of previous machinist experience
- Experience with metal forgings
- Experience cutting soft jaws
- High school diploma or equivalent, Vo-Tech certificate, or associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or another related field.
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and objectives
- Strong knowledge of basic machining principles, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and the ability to read blueprints
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and gauges to ensure proper setups and machining operations
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
