Position Overview

Riverside Research is seeking a motivated and innovative Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our Sensor and Systems Business Unit in Fairfax, Virginia. This part-time role is open to individuals who are currently pursuing a degree or have equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field. The primary focus of this role will be on developing AI agents, conducting research on large language models (LLMs), and creating rapid prototypes to support our cutting-edge projects.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and refine AI agents, contributing to various stages of the development lifecycle.

Conduct research on large language models (LLMs) to explore new techniques and methodologies for enhancing AI capabilities.
Participate in the design and development of rapid prototypes, turning innovative ideas into functional software solutions.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following best practices in software development.
Assist in debugging and troubleshooting software issues, providing support for testing and quality assurance processes.
Contribute to team discussions, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to the table, and actively participating in brainstorming sessions.
Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to ongoing project

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language models.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Ability to work independently, managing time effectively to meet project deadlines.

$53,600 - $70,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
