Apply for Job Job ID 60569 Location UMKC Volker Campus Full/Part Time Full-Time Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Hiring Department Undergraduate Admissions Job Description Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Assistant Director for Visits and Events is responsible for oversight of the daily campus visit program, manages the campus visit team, and coordinates special on-campus recruitment and yield events (e.g. Discover UMKC, Transfer Visit Day, Future Roo Day) and other targeted recruitment efforts for the Office of Admissions. This role develops, manages, implements, and evaluates campus visit and event strategies for first time college students and transfer/adult students, with a focus on supporting university enrollment goals. This position also assists in the day-to-day operation of the Admissions Office, counsels domestic first-time college and transfer students and their families, supports special admissions and retention initiatives, and represents the university at appropriate recruitment functions. Additional duties: Oversee the Admissions Welcome Center and overall guest experience. Supervise the full-time professional staff members (Welcome Center Visit Coordinator and Admissions Ambassador Program Coordinator) who coordinate daily campus visit operations and supervise student tour guides/student employees. Collaborate with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to determine visit and event strategy and priorities, evaluate visit outcomes, implement new ideas, and continuously improve the admissions visit experience. Represent the University to prospective students, their families, and the public, and represents the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in the absence of the Director. Plan, manage, and implement large-scale recruitment events, including Discover UMKC, Transfer Visit Day, Future Roo Day, and others. Work with Marketing and Communications to develop print publications and mailings related to the campus visit and events experience. Maintain, analyze, and act upon data, reports, and surveys related to campus visits and recruitment events. Work with the CRM team to manage campus visit portals, registration pages, automated communications, and event maintenance in Slate CRM. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal constituents, and interface with various campus officials concerning events, student admissions, and recruitment. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal/presentation skills, and present information at both on-campus and off-campus events. Communicate information about UMKC's requirements for admission, including requirements for specific academic programs. Initiate and maintain positive relationships with prospective students, families, school/college counselors/advisors, and other external stakeholders. Function with a high level of autonomy, including setting accountability goals, while keeping appropriate stakeholders informed of progress to goals. Other duties as assigned. Shift Position includes some early morning, weekend, and evening work and may include some travel. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications A master's degree or equivalent combination of education and training from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is strongly preferred. 3-4 years of experience working in higher education in new student recruitment, college admissions, or equivalent is strongly preferred. 2-3 years of experience working with campus visits and events in a higher education context and familiarity with visit and event best practices is strongly preferred. 2-3 years of experience using a higher education CRM system, preferably Technolutions Slate, is strongly preferred 2-3 years of experience managing professional and/or student staff members is strongly preferred. Familiarity with higher education database systems such as PeopleSoft, Ellucian Banner, or equivalent is strongly preferred Experience managing complex projects and exercising independent judgment is strongly preferred. Anticipated Hiring Range The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $60,000 - $67,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
