Construction Project Manager - Hyperscale Data Center Construction *Location:* Chicago, IL
*Employment Type:* Contract *Industry:* Data Center Construction / Mission Critical Infrastructure About the Opportunity TEKsystems is seeking an experienced *Construction Project Manager* to support a leading *hyperscale data center operator* as it continues to expand and enhance its mission-critical infrastructure portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to act as an *Owner's Representative*, overseeing complex data center construction, expansion, retrofit, and modernization projects that support large-scale cloud and digital infrastructure operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing construction projects from conception through closeout, combined with expertise in *hyperscale data centers, mission-critical environments, MEP systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and fiber connectivity*. This position serves as a key liaison between internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, vendors, and field operations teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Lead the full project lifecycle from planning and preconstruction through commissioning and closeout. * Coordinate resources across internal teams, contractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders. * Support project planning activities including scope development, budgeting, procurement, scheduling, and risk mitigation. * Review contractor execution plans, site logistics plans, project schedules, and safety programs. * Oversee project performance related to cost, quality, schedule, procurement, safety, and change management. * Facilitate Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings and serve as the primary owner representative on assigned projects. * Ensure contractor compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and operational requirements. * Manage the review and approval process for MOPs, SOPs, and MSOW documentation. * Oversee equipment procurement, delivery, commissioning, testing, and turnover activities. * Conduct routine site walks to validate progress, safety compliance, construction quality, and milestone achievement. * Coordinate operational constraints, planned outages, blackout windows, and field activities within active data center environments. * Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project teams, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders. * Foster a culture centered around safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Required Qualifications * 10+ years of construction project management experience. * Demonstrated success managing projects from initiation through final completion. * Experience supporting *hyperscale data center construction* and/or other mission-critical facilities. * Familiarity with construction activities in *live operational environments*. * Working knowledge of commissioning processes, change management, MOPs, SOPs, and MSOWs. * Experience managing General Contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and consulting partners. * Strong work history in project budgeting, procurement, scheduling, quality assurance, and risk management. * Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. * Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
