GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for monitoring clinical performance related to stroke patients and responsible for staff education as it pertains to stroke care. Responsible for assuring compliance as it related to regulatory requirements. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. *Facilitates the coordination of care and services for stroke patients across the continuum of care. *Participates in the team process for developing and updating evidenced-based practice guidelines, procedures, nursing standards of care and outcome studies. *Mentors staff in their development of critical thinking and skill application to the nursing process; serves as a resource for clinical decision-making. *Monitors hospital environment for compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Bachelor's degree in Nursing and participation in progressive education or certification in area of expertise preferred. Minimum of two (2) years direct patient experience required. Prior experience with stroke patient population preferred. Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network. | |
