Post-Masters Therapy Fellow - DayBridge Partial Hospitalization Program

St. Louis Park, MN

The Park Nicollet Behavioral Health Department is comprised of a large, multidisciplinary team of clinicians who provide comprehensive mental health services to patients in Minnesota. We are seeking a Post-Masters Therapy Fellow for our DayBridge program in Saint Louis Park, MN.

This position will work under the direct supervision by an LICSW to provide psychosocial and psychiatric assessment, treatment planning and referral, to patients and families at DayBridge Partial Hospitalization Program (Methodist/Park Nicollet) using a full range of social work treatment modalities. This role will provide outpatient mental health care to patients experiencing mental illness via therapeutic programming, implementation of safety care plans, creating/reviewing individualized patient treatment goals and utilization of trauma informed de-escalation skills for patient safety and milieu management.

Qualified candidates must have the following:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

Masters degree in social work from a graduate program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), the Canadian Association of Schools of Social Work (CASSW), or a similar accreditation body designated by the Minnesota Board of Social Work. Current status must be compliant with Minnesota statute requirements regarding education and licensure status in Minnesota or another jurisdiction.

Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

  • Valid and current LGSW license in Minnesota

  • BLS/CPR Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the values, principles and methodologies of social work.
  • Ability to integrate social, medical and psychotherapeutic data into psychosocial assessments treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric, psychosocial, and chemical health diagnoses based on DSM-IV-TR classification.
  • Knowledge of social work/psychological treatment methodologies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, co-workers and community organizations.
  • Awareness of diverse cultural perspectives.
  • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in operating: telephone/voicemail, personal computer (applicable software applications), photocopier, fax machine, and printer.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • One or more years of relevant clinical experience (e.g., diagnostic assessments, individual, family and group counseling) during graduate training, including working with multidisciplinary teams in a medical/mental health setting.

    • Previous work and/or training within a healthcare setting or higher level of mental health care facility/program.

    Licensure/Registration/Certification: N/A

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Experience/training in clinical mental health services.
    • Experience working with culturally/racially diverse clinical populations.
    • Experience with the fundamental principles for completing diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy (individual and group).
