To maintain, modify and repair all electrical, mechanical and plumbing devices, components, equipment, etc. in and around the facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform repair and maintenance on all machinery and mechanical equipment
- Must be able to manufacture all replacement machine parts utilizing a variety of machining equipment
- Perform construction and repair of all pipefitting and other facilities used for the flow of fluids and gases.
- Perform welding using arc and gas welding equipment
- Operate and maintain air conditioning, heating, water treatment and equipment throughout the plant
- Repair all electrical equipment in the plant
- Read and interpret blueprints and dimensional drawings
- Perform measurements of gases, liquids, solids, electricity, etc. using a variety of highly accurate measuring instruments and gauges
- Observe defective mechanical and electrical devices and accurately diagnose problems
- Perform threading, cutting, bending, caulking, etc., as required
- Adhere to plant Safety Program and policies
- Perform counts as required
- Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment
- Understand and actively participate in Haldex Way activities
- Perform other duties as required by supervisor
Qualifications

- Must be able to read and write at minimum of a tenth-grade level
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience and/or be a graduate of a vocational maintenance program
- Must have a current NC Electrical License
- Must be able to pass test and obtain a forklift operator's license

- Must be able to work the required shift hours and any overtime as required
- Must be able to lift thirty to ninety pounds intermittently over a regularly scheduled work day (employees are not expected to lift more than they feel comfortable lifting alone and should ask for assistance or use any of the lifting devices available to prevent injury)
- Must be able to stand, walk or sit for the period of a regularly scheduled work day
- Must be able to bend over, grasp, push and pull heavy loads as required
- Must be able to operate sweeper and fork lift truck
- Must be able to use pneumatic tools, hand tools and various other machines such as electronic tests, manual testers, vices, presses, etc. as required
- Must be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial gauges, etc.
