Overview
The Enterprise Architect leads the strategic architecture, modernization, and governance of enterprise applications, integrations, and data platforms across VNS Health. The role is responsible for advancing enterprise architecture capabilities that support healthcare payer and provider operations, with a focus on vendor application portfolio management, enterprise integration strategy, cloud modernization, and data architecture.The Enterprise Architect partners with business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to ensure enterprise solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational strategy. The role provides architectural leadership across cloud platforms, software-as-a-service ecosystems, data architecture, application programming interfaces, and enterprise integration patterns, with emphasis on AWS, Snowflake, Salesforce, and healthcare interoperability technologies. Working under general direction, the Enterprise Architect serves as a technical leader and trusted advisor across the organization.

What You Will Do:
- Enterprise Architecture Strategy
- Defines and maintains enterprise architecture standards, principles, and technology roadmaps supporting healthcare payer and provider operations.
- Develops target-state architectures that support digital transformation, cloud modernization, interoperability, analytics, and operational efficiency.
- Aligns technology investments with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and enterprise scalability objectives.
- Establishes architecture governance processes and participates in architecture review activities.
- Vendor Application Portfolio Management
- Leads architecture oversight for enterprise vendor platforms and software-as-a-service ecosystems.
- Evaluates, rationalizes, and optimizes enterprise application portfolios across clinical, operational, financial, customer relationship management, and analytics domains.
- Partners with business and procurement teams on vendor selection, product evaluations, and technology assessments.
- Defines integration and data exchange strategies across third-party healthcare platforms.
- Ensures vendor solutions align with enterprise security, compliance, scalability, and interoperability requirements
- Cloud Architecture & Modernization
- Leads cloud-first architecture initiatives across AWS, Snowflake, Salesforce Health Cloud, Salesforce Service Cloud, and other cloud-native healthcare platforms.
- Designs scalable hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architectures.
- Defines enterprise patterns for application programming interface management, event-driven architecture, microservices, serverless computing, cloud security, and data governance.
- Guides migration of legacy healthcare applications and data platforms to modern cloud-based architectures.
- Enterprise Integration & Interoperability
- Defines enterprise integration strategies across payer, provider, and vendor ecosystems.
- Architects application programming interfaces and interoperability solutions utilizing HL7, FHIR, X12/EDI, REST APIs, and event-streaming technologies.
- Supports integration of electronic medical record and electronic health record systems, care management platforms, customer relationship management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, claims platforms, and member engagement platforms.
- Establishes reusable integration patterns and application programming interface governance frameworks.
- AI Enablement & Digital Innovation
- Leads enterprise artificial intelligence strategy and architecture initiatives across healthcare payer and provider domains.
- Designs scalable artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled platforms utilizing AWS AI and machine learning services, Snowflake Cortex, Salesforce Einstein, and cloud-native artificial intelligence technologies.
- Defines enterprise patterns for responsible artificial intelligence adoption, governance, model lifecycle management, and artificial intelligence security.
- Supports secure integration of large language models and artificial intelligence copilots within enterprise healthcare platforms.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams.
- Mentors solution architects, engineers, and technical leads.
- Facilitates cross-functional architecture planning and decision-making.
- Leads development and maintenance of enterprise architecture documentation, standards, and governance artifacts.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent related experience required Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred
Work Experience: - Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology leadership roles required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting healthcare payer and/or provider organizations required
- Deep expertise with AWS cloud services, Snowflake, Salesforce platforms, enterprise integrations, and software-as-a-service architectures required
- Strong understanding of healthcare business domains, including claims, care management, clinical operations, provider management, member engagement, and population health required
- Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, and X12/EDI required
- Experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, or value-based care programs preferred
Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled healthcare platforms and data products preferred - Experience with MuleSoft, Informatica, Databricks, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform, or API gateway platforms preferred
Pay Range
USD $122,300.00 - USD $164,000.00 /Yr.
