Part-Time, 24 Hours/Week Weekend Day Shifts Onsite Summary: The Radiology Imaging Systems Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining radiologic imaging workflows using a variety of hospital imaging and communication systems. This position plays a critical role in the delivery of patient care by processing, interpreting, and distributing medical imaging, while serving as the first point of contact for technical and clerical imaging issues. Responsibilities: 1. Responds to imaging-related requests from clinical staff, providers, and outside healthcare organizations; digitizes and imports documentation and imaging into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to support patient care. 2. Manages Independent Workflow: Serves as the sole support for radiology systems; independently triages issues, prioritizes tasks, and escalates when necessary. 3. Manages imaging needs-including image transfers, corrections, and urgent report delivery (e.g., trauma, NICU, critical findings)-to ensure timely communication across departments and organizations. 4. Supports Clinical Teams: Collaborates with radiologists, technologists, emergency staff, and providers to ensure timely imaging access for decision-making. 5. Triages Radiology System Issues: Acts as first point of contact for system-related concerns; documents, resolves, or routes problems to appropriate departments (e.g., IT, Radiology Admin). 6. Performs Patient-Facing Clerical Support: Conducts order entry, scans documentation, and completes patient registration for walk-in x-rays and other radiology requests, both in-person and via phone 7. Coordinates External Imaging requests: Manages imaging requests from external hospitals, providers & Medical Records. Ensures accurate documentation and timely report delivery for patient transfers and specialty consults. 8. Ensures Compliance and Confidentiality: Maintains HIPAA compliance in all communication, demonstrating sensitivity when interacting with patients, families, and providers. 9. Supports departmental operations by completing additional responsibilities as needed. Other information: Technical Expertise 1. Multisystem Navigation: Demonstrated ability to navigate and use multiple computer platforms simultaneously to support patient care, manage imaging workflows, and maintain data integrity. 2. Customer and Provider Communication: Strong customer service and communication skills, including experience responding to patient, provider, and interdepartmental requests both in person and over the phone. 3. Radiology Systems Experience (Preferred): Familiarity with one or more of the following systems is preferred: PACS, Epic, PowerScribe, Exam Manager, Life Image, PowerShare, and related imaging and communication software. 4. Problem Solving and Prioritization: Proven ability to independently prioritize tasks, troubleshoot system issues, and escalate concerns appropriately, especially during high-volume or after-hours situations. 5. Healthcare Terminology (Preferred): Understanding of basic medical terminology and anatomy to support imaging-related requests and documentation accuracy. 6. Team and Independent Work: Comfortable working both collaboratively in a team environment and independently during evening, weekend, and holiday shifts. Education and Experience 1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. 2. Licensure: None 3. Certification: None 4. Years of relevant experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role where the individual was required to navigate and use multiple computer systems. 5.
