Your Role

As a Shipping Clerk at Quincy, your primary mission is to ensure the smooth and accurate dispatch of orders, contributing significantly to an exceptional customer experience. You will play a vital role in managing the shipping process from start to finish, maintaining strong collaboration with third-party logistics (3PL) partners and internal teams. Your focus will be on selecting the most efficient, cost-effective carriers while guaranteeing all products are picked, packed, and shipped correctly. Additionally, your efforts in managing shipping documentation and addressing logistical challenges will directly impact the reliability and efficiency of our supply chain operations.


Your day-to-day

Your daily responsibilities will encompass managing and generating all essential shipping documents, such as bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and export documentation where applicable. You will coordinate closely with 3PL partners to verify the accuracy of picking and packing processes, ensuring that orders meet precise specifications before shipment. Serving as a pivotal liaison, you will communicate effectively between internal departments, carriers, and logistics providers to facilitate seamless shipping operations. Other key duties include resolving any discrepancies related to shipping errors, damages, or missing items, organizing warehouse and shipping spaces to maintain orderliness, and supporting ongoing initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction through better shipping experiences.


Your skills and experience

To excel in this role, you should be capable of working independently while demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills-both verbal and written. Your problem-solving abilities will be essential in managing multiple priorities with flexibility and maintaining a positive attitude and dedication to superior customer service. A solid work ethic and dependability are crucial to managing daily shipping tasks effectively. Basic computer literacy is required to handle shipping software and documentation tools efficiently.

Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* Minimum of one year of experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.

Physical Requirements:
* Ability to move within the facility, including periods of standing and walking.
* Regularly lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 60 pounds.
* Adaptability to work in varying environments, including those with temperature extremes and occasional elevated noise levels.
* May need to work at heights and operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts.
* Compliance with safety protocols, including personal protective equipment (PPE), is mandatory.
* Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if operational demands require.


Your location

This position is based on-site at our shipping facility located in Bay Minette, Alabama, United States. Working on-site is essential to interact directly with warehouse operations, carriers, and logistics partners, ensuring streamlined shipping activities and prompt resolution of any challenges that arise.
