JOB SUMMARY The Aeromechanical Engineer will carry out engineering assignments concerned with the planning and design of electromechanical equipment exposed to the airstream. Responsible for design, development and test of prototype hardware and monitoring production, installation, operation, maintenance, test and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Designs and documents aeromechanical and electromechanical equipment and products.
- Reviews and directs changes to engineering drawings.
- Analyzes performance and stress.
- Runs tests to validate engineering designs in a safe and effective manner.
- Performs installation, operation, maintenance, test and repair of mechanically functioning test equipment and test set-ups.
- Works under supervision, performs assignments of moderate complexity and assists other engineers.
- Under general supervision and with some latitude for un-reviewed action, performs assignments which involve responsibility for a test set-ups and equipment design.
- May give direction to drafters/designers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Must have a BSME and zero to three years of experience in designing and developing complex aeromechanical components/subsystems for the aerospace/defense industry and applying ASME Y14.5M.
- Experience with test equipment setup, operation, and fabrication. Must have a good understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, theory, and calculations.
- Understanding of military specifications and environment desired, able to understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of computer-aided design and analysis software beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures and technical reports.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply engineering mathematics and analytical methods to solve problems involving statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, compressible flow, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
- Ability to analyze test data using appropriate statistical methods and engineering judgment.
- Ability to work independently, effectively, and collaboratively with fellow engineers and members from other departments, customers, vendors and corporate management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Must be computer proficient (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) with ability to create spreadsheets & word processing documents.
- CAD knowledge a plus with emphasis in Solidworks and/or AutoCad and ProE; analysis and modeling using MATLAB preferred.
- Travel occasionally required.
- Capable of providing field support to customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and/or against deadlines.
- Extended hours and overtime occasionally required to meet job requirements.
- Must keep current with engineering field.
- Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen.

- Pay Range: $69500 to $115000 annually
