The Defense Systems Division is part of the Parker Aerospace Group, located in Irvine, California. Our products are used across military and commercial platforms globally. We specialize in cutting edge thermal management systems and components including fans, pumps and compressors, ammunition handling systems, weapon scoring systems, dynamic pressure sensors, piezoelectric accelerometers, towed targets, reeling machines, and associated telemetry.

Production Assembler 2 (Environment Control Systems)

Position Summary/Essential Functions:

On a production basis, performs medium mechanical assembly work. Variable types of job. Often, make simple decisions but must follow established precedents. Works under general supervision and has some responsibility for work output.

Depending on personnel requirement this position can be for 1st shift and/or 2nd shift.

Responsibilities:

Good understanding of products and processes. Able to troubleshoot assembly issues with support from supervision & able to work on a variety of tasks.

* Assemble components using basic hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches and drivers
* During assembly process knowledgeable in using multimeter, isolation testers, and electrical fixtures for electrical component acceptance
* Apply mechanical skills during assembly, utilizing blueprints and technical instructions
* Good understanding of different types of fluids (Hydraulic, coolant/refrigerant, diesel)
* Perform failure analysis; troubleshoot mechanical failures with support from supervision
* Disassembly and rework of parts to print per instructions as needed
* Able to work on a wide variety of tasks depending on customer demands
* Needs to be organized to ensure a FOD free clean environment
* Required to wear safety glasses and safety shoes during working hours

* Facility maintenance as requested.

Qualifications:

candidates must be 'U.S. Persons' (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident).

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 2 to 6 years related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills: Spreadsheets, word processing and presentations (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to use hand tools and be mechanically inclined.
  • Position involves ability to frequently or constantly exert up to 20 pounds of force and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force to move/lift objects.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Work area normally subject to non-air conditioning.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible and deal with changing conditions as required. Shop environment contains hazardous materials, dust, moving equipment, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, and metal chips from cutting, milling, drilling and turning operations. Employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $18.9/hr to $31.5/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
