Parker Meggitt, an addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

Planner II

Position Summary:

The Planner II owns the planning execution for assigned products, program(s), or value stream(s) and is responsible for balancing material availability, capacity, and delivery commitments within a moderately complex aerospace environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and manages the planning execution for assigned products, program(s), or value stream(s) within capacity constraints.

  • Evaluates and works with buyers to ensure materials supply is available to meet demand.
  • Utilizes SAP in the planning, monitoring, level loading, and releasing of production work orders in support of Operations' objectives such as on time in full to the customer and inventory optimization.

  • Responsible for maintaining schedule within SAP and communicating any major schedule changes to internal parties. May need to interact with external customers.

  • Regularly interacts with crossfunctional partners (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Procurement) to coordinate effective execution and resolution of issues.

  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems and analytical tools. Able to analyze data, identify issues, and drive resolution. Basic understanding of broader supply chain concepts.

  • Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed.
  • Responsible for recommending changes to improve the planning process for assigned products.
  • Experienced team contributor who supports and trains others. May lead small projects or initiatives or champion a team.
  • Operates in a moderately complex environment requiring multivariable problem solving across material, capacity, quality, and engineering constraints.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and applies techniques and methods to internal processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required.

  • May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of planning best practices and experience with managing tight development program deadlines in aerospace/manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

  • Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • Critical thinker able to analyze and solve problems while exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

  • Accountable, proactive, and effective at balancing priorities and resolving issues while building positive relationships amongst stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to drive tasks to completion

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools

Education & Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree is required

Years Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience applying planning concepts and methodologies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace but not required.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

  • Pay Range: $83250 to $138550 annually
