Senior Electrical Validation Engineer

Stellantis
United States, Michigan, Auburn Hills
Jun 24, 2026

Stellantis is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Validation Engineer who will be responsible for validating the electrical system based on validation test plans and procedures for automotive body, audio, active chassis and/or safety systems.

The Engineer will require the extensive use of CAN testing tools and traditional electrical testing equipment in an electrical lab atmosphere to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems on some or all test properties:Plywood Buck, Vehicle-Hardware-in-the-Loop (VHIL), subsystem Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), and/or vehicles.

For HILs testing, the Engineer may develop procedures for manual and automated execution; implementing and executing tests using HIL equipment; documenting and reviewing execution reports; reporting issues, and tracking software updates to fix issues.

The Engineer may perform vehicle level networking testing and/or FOTA, analyze the data, and validate the integrity of the vehicle system on all properties. This role requires close collaboration with feature owners, engineering, extended teams, and suppliers to develop a strong understanding of the EE functions for early identification of defects and to provide evidence of defect elimination. The Engineer will also provide feedback on the test plans and procedures for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related degree field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license, willing and able to drive and test vehicles, able to obtain a chauffeur's license to drive heavy duty pick-up trucks.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%.
  • Execute test procedures in alignment with test EE Validation guidelines and strategy.
  • Analyze test execution results to generate reports, document incidents, and drive them to resolution.
  • Troubleshoot ECUs, System HIL and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies for test design and execution processes.
  • Document test environment, automation, and vehicle configuration requirements.
  • Familiarity with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity of FOTA (Firmware Over The Air).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Materials /Chemical/Civil/Aerospace/Computer) or related degree field.
  • EE Validation Hardware-in-the-Loop testing on Body, Chassis, and other vehicle electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools (CAN diagnostic tools, CANoe, CANalyzer.)
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, current probes, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing vehicle and system level validation.
  • Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes.
  • Trained in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).
  • Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and to debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses.
  • Certified problem-solving skills (Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt).
