Job Summary
Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician supports investigational and clinical pharmacy operations through the preparation, dispensing, and management of sterile and non-sterile medications in accordance with USP standards and hospital policies and procedures. This role performs pharmaceutical calculations, prepares a variety of dosage forms including intravenous (IV) infusions, syringes, and capsules, and maintains compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety requirements. The Pharmacy Technician plays an integral role in investigational drug services by processing outpatient and inpatient research prescriptions, managing study drug inventory and accountability, monitoring storage conditions, and maintaining accurate documentation. Responsibilities include coordinating with pharmacists, study teams, sponsors, and monitors to support clinical research activities, monitor visits, study closeout, and document archival. Additional duties include assisting with staff training, maintaining required competencies, supporting IV room cleaning and environmental monitoring activities, and contributing to the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the pharmacy.
