WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:
The Agile Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of business applications and technology solutions delivered by Agile teams within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This role combines Agile product ownership with subject matter expertise to ensure that technology designs meet the needs of end users within an assigned unit.

The role partners with other business stakeholders to lead the definition, prioritization, and delivery of features assigned to a single agile team that includes Developers, Administrators, Technical Quality Assurance Specialists, and Subject Matter Experts. This role is responsible for ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and innovation across assigned systems.

Assigned to complex technologies, this role is responsible for developing requirements and specifications for new features/functionality, maintaining data integrity, troubleshooting issues and documenting procedures. The individual applies specialized expertise to resolve critical issues and execute projects of high complexity, scope, size and risk. They actively participate in industry and knowledge-sharing groups, driving innovation by researching and implementing current and emerging technology solutions. As a project lead, they provide training, mentorship, and guidance to staff while also offering support and leadership to all team members throughout the project lifecycle.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual with a preference to be in proximity to Fairfield, NJ. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States but must work an east coast schedule.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
* Act as the Product Owner on an Agile team, managing the team backlog and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and prioritize requirements and translate them into actionable user stories.
* Participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Serve as the subject matter expert for specific business application(s) to the business unit, and liaison to the Information Technology Department and external technical teams as necessary. Provide escalated user support relating to the utilization of the business application(s).
* Research, analyze and apply emerging trends to projects and operations. Contribute strategic expertise to large-scale initiatives.
* Analyze business and user needs, emerging technologies, and risks in order to make recommendations, develop documentation of requirements and translate requirements into proper system specifications. Ensure systems are optimized to support business objectives and processes. Lead and participate in efforts related to implementations, releases and systems modifications.
* Ensure high data integrity is maintained and reported. Analyze and validate data. Design and prepare customized reports, document report specifications and ensure standard reporting procedures are aligned with business reporting requirements.
* Execute business application-related processes and transactions as needed. Develop and execute test procedures and cases as needed.
* Develop performance metrics to monitor and improve applications and processes. Develop project status reports for senior management review.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory regulations, Information Security Regulations, and Internal standard operating procedures.
* Provide training and guidance to other staff. Lead and contribute expertise to projects.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):
* Education: Bachelor's degree required
* Experience: Minimum 10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required

Skills & Abilities:
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to apply technical expertise to resolve problems.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks efficiently.
* Ability to work on a team.
* Ability to be 24-hour on-call during period of major disaster.
* Travel: Travel may be required

Physical Requirements
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

PAY INFORMATION:
The annual salary range for this position is $125K - $140K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
