Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor 2 of the Adult Non-invasive & Electro Cardiology Services, the Registered Nurse performs stress studies following the department's policy and procedures with minimal clinical supervision. The Registered Nurse will practice under the California Nurse Practice Act and ANA Standards of Practice utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe testing. These include assisting with all pharmacological (including nuclear medicine, dobutamine, and PET exams); non-pharmacological stress tests (treadmill, supine bicycle); tilt table and invasive and non-invasive echocardiographic procedures (trans-esophageal and transthoracic). Provides coverage for other cardiology non-invasive lab nursing staff members. Performs other duties for the non-invasive cardiology labs (e.g. IV insertion, contrast administration, performance of trans-esophageal testing, moderate sedation monitoring, documentation, etc.). Serves as a resource and advocate for patients, staff, and faculty. Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Required Qualifications:
