The Role

Entegris is currently seeking a Process Development Engineer to join our Electrostatic Chuck R&D team, based in i2M-Bedford facility.

In this role, you will support development and introduction of new unit processes, capabilities, and metrology for new electrostatic chuck products. You will be working on designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating operational performance requirements of electrostatic chucks. You will work in a collaborative environment closely with other Engineering team members, the NPI and Operations groups, to help qualify, and transfer new products to full-scale manufacturing. You should have a capacity for self-directed work and require a minimal technical oversight.

What You'll Do

  • The Process Development Engineer will design and test new process technology for product prototypes, understand customer requirements, define product specifications, and propose design within manufacturing limits. This may include new thin film coatings, bonding processes, photolithography, as well as optical and electrical testing.

  • The Engineer will perform R&D of new manufacturing process technology, assess practical application in production, support validation and qualification and release into manufacturing.

  • The Engineer will review customer requirements in a larger team to understand the scope of project, critical requirements, propose solutions, and generate test data.

  • The Engineer will use statistical process to collect and analyze engineering data. Will set specifications for new products and calculate process capability, perform process yield and defect analysis, generate reports for internal reviews.

  • The Engineer will support test data collection, documentation of new processes, provide training to Operations personnel, and manage development projects in Accolade system.

What We Seek

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent field.

  • Fast learner with ability to understand problems and solve them by gathering information independently, with just general supervision. Able to understand and troubleshoot issues, research and propose solutions, and provide feedback.

  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and hands-on experience with their design, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with high vacuum systems a plus.

  • Knowledge of statistical methods (Six Sigma, SPC, MSA, DOE, FMEA).

  • Ability to work effectively as a part of the team, good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with semiconductor fabrication process and equipment is a plus.

Compensation: $68,000-$80,000/dependent on experience.
