We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and relationship-focused Philanthropy Specialist to join our Development team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Development and Chief Philanthropy Officer, this role is integral to supporting fundraising operations, donor engagement, financial reporting, and department administration.

The Philanthropy Specialist serves as a key partner in advancing the organization's philanthropic goals by managing donor data, supporting fundraising initiatives, coordinating development activities, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Development Office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional who enjoys combining administrative expertise, data management, and mission-driven work to make a meaningful impact.

What You'll Do

As the Philanthropy Specialist, you will:
  • Manage and maintain the department's donor database, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of records.
  • Prepare and support financial reporting, gift tracking, and development-related documentation.
  • Coordinate administrative and operational activities for the Development Office.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, donor outreach efforts, and stewardship initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events and community engagement activities.
  • Provide administrative support to the Development team, including scheduling, correspondence, reporting, and project coordination.
  • Serve as a professional and welcoming point of contact for donors, staff, medical professionals, volunteers, and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding donor information and confidential records.
  • Support special projects and additional development activities as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an office or administrative environment with demonstrated growth in responsibility.
  • Experience supporting multiple priorities in a fast-paced, professional setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or similar donor management/fundraising database software preferred.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, philanthropy, healthcare, or donor relations is a plus.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

The role is primarily onsite to support collaboration, donor engagement, events, and Development Office operations. Following successful onboarding and based on departmental needs, the full time position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement that includes up to one remote workday per week, subject to supervisor approval.
