We are seeking an Accounting Manager to play a key leadership role within Rite-Hite's Finance organization. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this position provides the opportunity to influence accounting operations, develop talent, and help drive continuous improvement across a growing manufacturing business.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with a passion for developing people and improving processes. This role offers broad exposure across the organization and the opportunity to partner across finance to ensure complete, accurate and well-controlled accounting records that support enterprise reporting and decision making. What You'll Do
  • Lead core accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, inventory accounting, fixed assets, incentive compensation accounting, and reserve analyses.
  • Owns the accounting close process and delivery of accurate accounting inputs that support enterprise consolidation and reporting.
  • Oversee process-level internal controls, including execution, documentation, testing support, and remediation efforts.
  • Review balance sheet accounts and fluctuation analysis, challenge explanations, identify risks and anomalies, and drive corrective actions when necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting issues, reconciling items, and process exceptions.
  • Partner with cross-functional finance teams to ensure complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Establish and maintain process documentation, standard work and cross-training plans to improve consistency, reduce key-person dependency and support scalability.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading or mentoring others.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial close processes.
  • Experience with internal controls and maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Ability to analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement practical solutions.
  • Experience working within an ERP environment (JD Edwards experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process effectiveness and scalability.
