DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this supervisory professional social service position, we will rely on you to directly supervise individual caseworkers, ensure all cases are in full compliance with all state and federal requirements, provide training, and participate in administrative and outreach activities. As a County Casework Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Direct Supervision: Oversee professional caseworkers; conduct meetings to review active placement cases; give guidance suggestions, direction, instruction, and advice with case planning and need for on-going services
- Legal Compliance: Maintain direct knowledge of laws and regulations governing child welfare services; ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations and Agency policies and procedures; oversee and monitor investigations of suspected child abuse and neglect
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all required documents and forms are completed timely and that all services are being provided to clients; review and schedule all petitions for Court Reviews
- Foster Parent Training: Oversee and provide training for new foster parents, on-going training for current foster parents, and foster home evaluations and reevaluations
- Needs Based Budget Support: Maintain reports, statistics, data, and summaries to help administrators prepare the unit budget; meet with other community representatives and agencies to ensure we are coordinating appropriate services that meet the needs of children and youth within the community
- Professional Social Service Work: Provide case management and counseling services to children, youth, and family members to help them cope with life situations and crises as well as explore methods of adjusting to, modifying, or improving personal and social functioning
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position also requires a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
