Assembler

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Assembler is responsible for working from drawings and specification sheets to assemble and finish work on all types of transformers, such as, but not limited to, fabricate and install leads and lead supports, fabricate, assemble, and install tap changers, accessories and component parts, join leads and buss bars, perform assembly operations such as, but not limited to, internal assembly, tanking, and finishing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform finishing, pressure tests and assemble work on transformers

2. Install leads, bushings, tap changers and accessories

3. Install and fabricate buss bars and various copper connections

4. Wiring of control cabinet accessories, switches and components

5. Sanding and touch up painting of transformer

6. Fabricate internal leads and lugs

7. Perform simple winding operations

8. Operate vacuum pump equipment

9. Perform simple wiring diagnostic testing

10. Installation of external chambers and conservator units

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent plus at least three (3) years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong work ethic

Working understanding of basic math

Able to read tape measure

Able to work in a confined space
