The purpose of this position is to research, analyze, define and document business processes, business rules, and business requirements in support of business processes. Additionally, this position makes recommendations for new methodologies, tools, techniques, and processes to ensure agreed upon solutions are implemented satisfactorily.

We Require

  • Two years of business process analysis and/or business requirements documentation experience in an information technology or business environment

  • Experience managing business components of simple to complex business process improvement projects and/or small system related implementations

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

Job Contributions

  • Serves as a liaison between business and technology personnel and recommends process improvements. Consults, collaborates, and communicates with all levels of management including executive staff, operational and technical staff and external stakeholders regarding business process initiatives and automation projects. Presents information and recommendations in written reports and oral presentations.

  • Provides single point of accountability and ownership of client relations; establishes effective client relationships by developing trust, integrity, credibility, and reliability with each client/business area.

  • Identifies and defines opportunities and strategies to use technology to simplify, integrate, and otherwise improve the organization's business and workflow processes through the development of use case scenarios, business process modeling, flow charts and other tools. Ensures the optimal fit between a proposed solution with the current information technology infrastructure, application platforms and the strategic direction of the organization; ensures strategic business and IT alignment.

  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.

  • Create test cases, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and document results.

  • Applies appropriate job specific knowledge and uses expertise to perform daily job responsibilities to achieve organizational goals and equitable access to justice (mission/vision/values)

  • Demonstrates courtesy, honesty, fairness, and timely responsiveness when dealing with citizens, coworkers, or other departments in the County

  • Elicits and documents business requirements from business community using interviews, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process analysis, document analysis, task and workflow analysis, trend and data analysis, and other tools needed to achieve desired end results on extremely complex problems; audits and analyzes data flow and/or diagrams of various problems requiring program corrections/enhancements and assists in further defining system requirements. Interprets user needs and effectively translates specifications to appropriate vendors, consultants, programmers, or software support specialists

  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing processes or automated systems require change, or where new ones need to be developed, and makes recommendations for proposed changes. Manages business components of complex process improvement projects

  • Uses positive influence to collaborate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
