What You'll Do

The Lead Dispensary Assistant is responsible for determining adequate inventory levels of dental materials and clinic supplies for patient care, workshops, and licensing exams within the clinic. Projects inventory and orders/receives materials to meet the needs of clinic activities. Enforces instrument security policies and procedures. Reinforces proper infection control policies and personal protective equipment standards in the dispensaries. Models and reinforces excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Inventory Management:
    Plan and project inventory needs for clinic schedule and activities. Place orders, review and track status, and follow-up on back orders. Work closely Dispensary Assistants to review all supplies for expiration dates and prepare monthly expiration report.
    Anticipate/plan, organize and supply all necessary dental materials and instruments required for licensure exams and workshops
  • Equipment Control:
    Maintain security of dental equipment and instrument cassettes. Perform Axium "Kits In Report" daily. Direct students, dispensary assistants, and faculty to take appropriate action regarding instruments and infection control protocol. Inspect returning cassettes for damage, debris, defects, or missing items. Work with staff and students; ensure that personal protective equipment is worn.
  • Customer Service:
    Work effectively with faculty, students, residents and other Clinical Affairs staff to ensure a positive smooth operation. Demonstrate the Clinical Affairs values of Mutual Respect, Patient Centered, Safety, Responsible and the Continuous Improvement. Work to support the Clinical Affairs Customer Service Philosophy.
  • Clinic Oversight:
    Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and ability to communicate all issues clearly to Dispensary Supervisor. Responsible for monitoring clinic operatories for materials, organizing bays and insuring entire clinic floor is presentable, clean well organized and supplies are not wasted. Contact facilities department and cleaning contractor as needed. Other duties as needed to contribute to a successful clinic operation.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years related experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Vocational/technical training.
  • Axium database knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of dental instruments and materials.
  • Understanding of OSHA healthcare guidelines.
  • CDA-Certified Dental Assistant.

Pay Range

Minimum $24.70, Midpoint $29.50, Maximum $34.20

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
