Job Summary:

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Bilingual Research Specialist (Open Rank Research Services Entry - Intermediate Professional). This position is a key member of the school's Lifecourse Epidemiology of Adiposity and Diabetes (LEAD) Center, a multidisciplinary research center that investigates and seeks to understand the developmental origins of health and disease, particularly obesity, type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and the complex interplay of environmental exposures, genetic, and epigenetic processes in critical developmental periods across the lifecourse.

The Bilingual Research Specialist will work as part of a collaborative research team to support ongoing implementation of the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) and Mile High Microbiome studies. Key responsibilities include assisting with daily operational tasks such as scheduling and conducting in-person and remote study visits, coordinating and processing biospecimen collections, administering surveys, performing data entry, and carrying out quality assurance activities with minimal supervisory oversight. Strict compliance with IRB rules, regulations, and guidance is required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Collect physical measurements including weight, height, and other diet and physical activity measures.

* Administer health-related questionnaires to study participants.

* Collect blood samples from participants; process and ship blood samples to labs for analysis.

* Coordinate scheduling and logistics of study visits and program events.

* Support participant engagement through outreach and communication.

* Collect and enter data from visit forms into a secure electronic database.

* Document, organize, and synthesize data collection procedures outlines in the manual of operations.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

Entry Level

* A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health/medical research, public health, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

* Bilingual English and Spanish speaking required.

Intermediate Level

* A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health/medical research, public health, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

* One (1) year of professional level experience in a clinical research setting working directly with patients/study participants.

* Bilingual English and Spanish speaking required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with pregnant people, infants and children.

* Working knowledge of epidemiology, environmental health, or chronic diseases, such as obesity and diabetes.

* Experience in specimen processing, technical laboratory skills, and/or phlebotomy.

Conditions of Employment

* Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. We are unable to provide work visa sponsorship or employment authorization for this position now or in the future.

* Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance and reliable transportation for study visits in participants' homes as needed.

* Must be available to work occasional evenings and/or overnight travel with advance notice.

Anticipated Salary Range:

The starting target salary for this position has been established as:

Entry Level

$50,000 - $55,000 per year

Intermediate Level

$51,000 - $64,000 per year

The above salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
