Position Summary

Position Summary:
The Education Manager for the Department of Obstetrics
& Gynecology provides strategic and operational leadership for the
department's educational programs. This role is responsible for supporting
learners, staff, and faculty, ensuring compliance with accreditation and
institutional requirements, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture,
and advancing the department's educational mission. The Education Manager
serves as an advocate for the education team and a connector across programs
and leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

Educational Oversight & Strategy

  • Maintain a strong understanding of all educational programs within the department, including how they intersect and who supports each component.
  • Work to identify needs, risks, and opportunities with each program.
  • Develop and communicate goals for education programs aligned with departmental and institutional goals.
  • Translate strategic goals into clear, actionable tasks and priorities for the team.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and passion for women's health education and training.

Operations, Compliance & Structure

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accreditation, regulatory, and institutional requirements (e.g., ACGME, LCME, departmental handbooks, policies, and procedures).
  • Bring structure and clarity to educational operations, roles, and workflows.
  • Attend and actively participate in relevant departmental, institutional, and leadership meetings.
  • Serve as a key liaison between education programs, department leadership, and institutional partners.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Serve as a visible, supportive, and approachable leader who advocates for the education team.
  • Foster trust through clear direction, transparency, and consistency.
  • Promote team wellness and professional growth.
  • Build and sustain strong, collaborative teams with a focus on inclusivity and respect for diverse perspectives and values.
  • Demonstrate compassion, emotional intelligence, and thoughtful leadership, particularly in high-pressure or complex situations.

Conflict Management & Communication

  • Establish clear expectations and boundaries for the team.
  • Address conflict proactively and constructively.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment in knowing when to step in, when to coach, and when to empower others to resolve issues independently.
  • Be open to feedback and committed to continuous self-improvement.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are supervisory level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
