Roadway Programs Technician 2 - Purchasing

This position supports roadway maintenance operations through planning assistance, materials coordination, data review, and reporting work for county programs. Duties include helping with annual plans, inventories, purchasing, equipment tracking, and program monitoring. As a Roadway Programs Technician 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Planning Support: Assist with preparing work plans, snow plans, meeting schedules, and long range maintenance planning
• Material Coordination: Order and track materials, coordinate deliveries, prepare bids, and maintain contract files for maintenance needs
• Data Tracking: Review and update system data, compile reports, and monitor progress toward county maintenance goals
• Purchasing Assistance: Initiate purchase orders, prepare specifications, review bids, and support procurement activities
• Program Support: Serve as coordinator for rentals, tort claims, reimbursable accident reports, and accident investigations
• Inventory Duties: Conduct physical inventories, track material usage, and assist with pipe and stockpile monitoring

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate's Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
