Department's Website: JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Plans and executes New Student Orientation, in cooperation with other campus personnel to help ensure that students are prepared to be successful when the semester starts. Plans and implements a range of programs and activities to promote the social, cultural, and recreational needs of students. Plans and implements comprehensive student programming that promotes increased student involvement and participation in student life. Serves as lead sponsor of the Student Life & Leadership Council (SLLC) and includes members in planning and execution of activities and events. Provides supervision of part-time employees, student workers, and volunteers for student activities and events. Plans and implements the daily functions of the campus student center (Student Union) and outside areas related to student life. Maintains the internal digital signage, in cooperation with the Department of PR and Marketing Plans and implements a variety of recreation and wellness activities for students, faculty, and staff. Serves as lead person for all activities related to and involving student organizations, including maintaining contact with all faculty/staff sponsors. Assists with campus recruiting, promotional, and celebratory events. Serves as lead person for the UACCM Discount Program, which includes maintaining the website of available discounts to employees and students. Ensures that fitness equipment is functional in the campus Fitness Center. Keeps the Vice Chancellor for Student Services informed of issues and operational needs of the Office of Student Life. Makes recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Student Services for changes in the operations of the Office of Student Life. Actively serves and participates on campus committees, as assigned. Maintains current knowledge and best practices in the field of student life by attending local, state, regional, or national conferences and meetings. Practices fiscal responsibility by recommending annual budget needs and ensuring that department funds are spent to align with the goals of the institution. Works cooperatively with the Information and Communications Accessibility Committee to ensure that department content is perceivable, operable, understandable and robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of users.
