Overview:

Project Manager - Community + Live, Workplace & Government (CWG) markets - Sacramento, CA

Join HGA's Community + Live, Workplace & Government markets as an architectural Project Manager in our Sacramento, CA office.

As an experienced professional, it is expected you will have a minimum of eight (8) years of architectural and project management experience, responsible for independently leading multiple small to midsize projects from concept through completion. This role oversees all aspects of project delivery-including planning, budgeting, scheduling, team coordination, and client communication-while ensuring that design excellence is achieved within scope, timeline, and budget.

Working in close partnership with Principals and Practice Group Leaders, the role provides strategic direction to project teams, manages workflows and resources, and maintains accountability for project documentation and administrative processes. This role is critical to ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, meet client expectations, and contribute positively to the firm's goals.

In this role you will:

Project Leadership

    Independently manage multiple projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop and oversee project work plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing.
  • Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and code compliance throughout all phases.

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the primary client liaison, building trust and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Lead presentations, facilitate approvals, and translate client goals into actionable strategies.

Team Coordination

  • Direct and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Coordinate consultants and stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.

Documentation & Administration

  • Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project documentation in line with firm standards.

What you will need to have:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, with at least 3 years in a project management role.
  • Architectural licensure preferred or in progress.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of building codes, construction methods, and project delivery.

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $98,300 - $115,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
