Executive Service AUDIT DIRECTOR 1 - CONTRACT MONITORING OF PRIVATELY MANAGED FACILITIES Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General (OIG) Nashville, TN Salary: $103,440.00 - $134,244.00 Annually Closing Date: 05/18/2026Background Check: This position requires a criminal background check. Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. Job Overview: The Audit Director 1 position oversees the coordination of the daily administrative services for contract monitoring audits for privately managed facilities. Other duties and responsibilities include oversight of the development and distribution of contract monitoring instruments, reviewing policies, preparing reports and presentations, and overseeing audit processes related to contracts and TDOC policies. This position reports directly to the Deputy Inspector General. This position requires frequent travel to assist on-site Correctional Compliance Specialists assigned to each facility and conducting quarterly audits of each privately managed facility. This position reports directly to the Deputy Inspector General. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Must have a bachelor's degree and at least ten (10) years of correctional or auditing experience.
