Internal Logistics Engineering - Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Specialist

Major Duties:

Lead all aspects of powered industrial vehicle (PIV) planning for new and non-new model activities, including:



  • Establish and maintain standard PIV equipment definitions with plants and purchasing, while ensuring compatibility with plant operations.
  • Define PIV Sizing/Capacity requirements (vehicle sizing, features needed).
  • Lead the development and review of plant PIV procurement projects while managing implementation timelines for fleet integration for new and carryover model launches.
  • Define PIV charging strategy and execution, including traditional battery room set up/installation, rapid charge set up/installation, off-site charging set up/installation, etc.
  • Research, validate and implement new technologies (fuel cells, rapid charge, etc.), including NPV and/or benefit/cost analysis.
  • Maintain the master PIV fleet inventory, coordinate annual capacity and application audits with plant and safety leads, and conduct PIV maintenance audits at NA facilities while developing countermeasures for chronic and emerging issues.
  • Establish standard PIV training plans for plant use based on corporate safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate turn-in, transfer, procurement and deployment of PIV fleets with plant material handling engineers and finance controllers.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to manage vendors and oversee rental, leasing, and purchasing activities for PIV equipment.
  • Apply Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) principles to all applicable areas of PIV fleets,
  • Help plant with Autonomous Maintenance (AM)/Preventive Maintenance (PM) standards/calendars for PIVs and Charging Equipment in TMS.
  • Ensure Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) best practices for PIV safety are executed.



Automated/Autonomous Material Handling Equipment:



  • Maintain master Automated/Autonomous mobile equipment (AGVs, AFTs, ATUs and AMRs, chargers) fleet inventory and conduct annual capacity reviews.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance performed as per supplier specifications.
  • Conduct maintenance audits at NA facilities and provide countermeasures for chronic and/or emerging issues.
  • Coordinate reuse, turn-in and/or transfer of automated equipment with plant finance, material handling engineers, purchasing and suppliers.


Basic Qualifications:




  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management.


  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in PIV fleet and charging system implementation and management.


  • Minimum 2+ years' experience in automated material handling equipment management and maintenance.


  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data management skills required.
