The IT Project Manager for Manufacturing & Logistics (MLM) Application Modernization is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technology modernization initiatives across the enterprise's manufacturing locations. This role oversees the full lifecycle transformation of 27 legacy MLM applications from a mainframe environment to modern, cloudbased, webdriven platforms. The position partners closely with manufacturing leadership, business stakeholders, ICT teams, and external vendors to ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational requirements. The IT Project Manager ensures that modernization efforts support manufacturing continuity, improve system reliability, and enable long-term scalability. Will need to work at plants at times. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead endtoend project management for the modernization and migration of the MLM application suite, including scope definition, timeline planning, risk management, and delivery execution.
- Oversee project plans, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, and vendor deliverables to ensure successful deployment of cloudbased solutions.
- Coordinate requirements gathering, documentation, and validation with business users and ICT teams.
- Develop and manage project governance frameworks, including steering committees, status reporting, and change control processes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between business partners, project teams, ICT leadership, and external vendors.
- Translate business needs into actionable project plans and ensure alignment across all teams.
- Manage vendor teams responsible for development, integration, testing, and implementation, ensuring adherence to quality and timelines.
- Facilitate communication between manufacturing sites and central ICT groups to ensure seamless adoption of new systems.
Execution of Modernization Programs:
- Oversee the phased migration of 27 legacy mainframe applications to cloud and web-based platforms, ensuring zero or minimal disruption to operations.
- Coordinate integration planning across systems such as Kanban, Controlled Storage, Stock Status, Assembly Shipping, and Receiving.
- Support application testing, validation, cutover planning, and golive readiness activities.
- Ensure all system changes follow enterprise change management, incident management, and release methodologies.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement:
- Partner with SMEs and technical teams to understand current processes and identify opportunities for optimization through modernization.
- Ensure documentation, training, and support materials are created for manufacturing teams.
- Continuously monitor project performance, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.

- Working knowledge of manufacturing plant systems such as machine monitoring, component tracking, and quality/performance systems.
- Experience coordinating with Manufacturing Engineering on system rollouts and production launches.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams and manage vendor delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing IT projects or supporting manufacturing ICT environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in an IT-related field.
- Formal Project or Program Management certification (PMP, Agile, etc.).
- Experience overseeing modernization of mainframe or legacy applications to cloud platforms.
- Experience with large-scale, multi-site manufacturing system implementations.
