Badging Coordinator Overview:

The Badging Coordinator focuses on onboarding and orienting new hires for Sun Country Airlines. This includes the pre-employment background process through the first day orientation and any continuous access and badging needs that an employee may require during their time with the company. This position will also support the proper check-in and check-out of all Headquarters guests, overseeing guest entry area, monitoring building entrances, managing deliveries and mail, and adhering workplace security protocols.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the compliance with AOSSP (Aircraft Operator Standard Security Program), PCSSP (Private Charter Standard Security Program) and FACAOSSP (Full Air Cargo Security Program) in all areas associated with the badging function, including management of Rap Back (Record of Arrests ad Prosecution Background), Airline Employee Vetting (AEV) CHRC (Fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check) and all pre-employment badging procedures.


  • Coordinates and administers pre-employment fingerprint based criminal history background checks for security sensitive positions.
  • Assist with processing MSP Airport Police Department (APD) and Customs Border Patrol (CBP) Clearance Notifications.
  • Effectively interpret TSA regulations as it pertains to CHRC retention, fingerprint based criminal history background checks.
  • Effectively interprets and administers Sun Country's ID Media policy.
  • Completes a required Badge Audit of all SY blue badge holders to ensure we are under a 5% threshold.
  • Assist with the completion of quarterly SIDA Airport Badge audits established by the MSP Metropolitan Airport Commission (MAC).
  • Assist with coordinating the SIDA and SY Blue Badge Termination Process
  • Assist with the completion of the Customs Border Patrol (CBP) quarterly audit established by CBP as it relates to airport security.
  • Assist with processing and managing MSP Airport Police Department (APD) and Customs Border Patrol (CBP) Clearance Notifications.
  • Effectively interpret FBI privacy rights as it pertains to fingerprint-based background checks and administer paperwork to standards. (maintaining CHRC, updating the spreadsheet when people clear)
  • Coordinate all aspects of badge renewal in compliance with TSA and Sun Country policies. (making all badges and ensuring that we get back all badges back, and creating a way to manage lost badges)
  • Assist in carrying out TSA RAP Back Program responsibilities under the direction of the designated TSA Supervisor.
  • Along with the IT department, coordinate badging for contractors of Sun Country; determining proper door access.
  • Provide support in coordinating with the MSP SIDA Badging Office on SIDA Swipe Report requests to aid fraud detection and employee accountability efforts.
  • Conduct MSP SIDA-controlled door key reclamations and accountability
  • Coordinate along with IT security access for Sun Country employees to various Sun Country properties.
  • Assist with the administering of the Internal "No Fly List" within Sun Country Airlines
  • Assist in any audits within the badging function to ensure badging compliance.
  • Maintain reports and audits retention.
  • Extensive interaction with employees, visitors, contractors, and all levels of management, will serve as the subject matter expert and resolve all inquiries for various levels.
  • Support security staff continuous efforts to ensure compliance with established company, government, customer regulations and policies and procedures. Assist with the coordination and facilitation of the administration of all Sun Country security policies.
  • Provide assistance in coordinating SIDA/SCA badging appointment scheduling.


  • Main back up to badging coordinator for front desk duties to include but not limited to report lost and found articles promptly and accurately and greets, verifies, and registers visitors and connects them with their intended Sun Country employee or department.


  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor.


  • Attends and completes authorized signer training for MAC (Metropolitan Airport Commission).
  • Understands and performs basic safety and security procedures of the headquarters building.


Required Qualifications:



  • High School Degree or equivalent, or airline experience and other training certificates may be substituted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills; able to successfully build cross-functional relationships and provide excellent client service
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple conflicting priorities
  • Strong organization, project management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, with the ability to flex into responsibilities outside of role to support business growth
  • Collaborative team player
  • Demonstrated initiative; able to function independently with minimal supervision but seeks supportive coaching where needed
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the organization


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Bachelor's degree
    • Previous airline experience
    • Previous experience conducting Audits


    Compensation:

    $20 - 22.5/hr.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Additional Notes:

    Must be able to obtain a MSP SIDA badge.
