This internship provides hands-on experience delivering 4-H programming alongside agricultural and environmental outreach efforts, helping youth and community members build skills in areas such as leadership, agriculture, and stewardship of natural resources. You'll work with a supportive team that values experiential learning, mentorship, and strong community relationships. Interns can expect a mix of youth engagement, field-based experiences, and program support activities. Work may take place in classrooms, community spaces, and outdoor settings, with some flexibility in scheduling based on program needs. This is a great opportunity for students interested in working with youth while gaining experience in agriculture or natural resources. Responsibilities Program & Event Support Assist with planning, coordination, and delivery of Agriculture & Natural Resources and 4-H programs (workshops, field days, youth activities) Community Outreach & Partnerships Support Extension outreach and engagement efforts by building relationships with community members, youth, and agricultural stakeholders, and promoting available programs and resources Research & Evaluation Collect, compile, and analyze program data to evaluate outcomes and impacts, including administering surveys, maintaining records, and contributing to Extension reports Education & Content Development Assist with field-based agricultural education and problem-solving, including irrigation management, forage production, and integrated pest management (grasshoppers) Professional Development & Other Duties Provide technical assistance to agricultural producers by supporting hay and soil sampling efforts, coordinating sample submission, and sharing research-based recommendations Qualifications Minimum: Be an undergraduate student Have an interest in the Extension program Be dependable Have access to reliable transportation to and from the job site Preferred: Agriculture degree path Required Documents Along with the online application, please attach: Resume to be uploaded at the beginning of your application in the Candidate Profile under "Resume/CV" Cover letter to be typed/pasted at the end of your application Answer the follwoing question within the application: This internship requires regular in-person/on-site work in Duchesne, Utah (approximately 3 hours southeast of the Logan campus). Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting.
