The Group Controller leads accounting operations across multiple business units, with responsibility for financial reporting, close processes, and overall accounting consistency. This role focuses on standardizing and centralizing practices while ensuring compliance across the organization.

A key priority is supporting Burris' ERP transformation, including bringing legacy business units onto the NetSuite platform. The Group Controller partners closely with Finance, IT, and Operations to align accounting needs with system capabilities and ensure successful implementation and adoption.

This position is best suited for a handson leader who is comfortable managing daytoday accounting operations while also supporting system and process improvements. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across business units are essential.

Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting outputs
  • Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and support audit processes
  • Coordinate with tax teams to support federal, state, and local compliance requirements
  • Lead centralized accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Management
  • Drive standardization of accounting processes, workflows, and controls across all business units
  • Establish andmaintainconsistentclose calendars, reporting timelines, and service expectations
  • Identifyand implement process improvements to increase efficiency andenablescalability
  • Lead and support the integration of legacy business units onto the NetSuite platform
  • Partner with Finance, IT, and Operations to translate business requirements into system functionality
  • Drive alignment of chart of accounts, reporting structures, and accounting workflows across entities
  • Support system implementation, testing, and post-go-live stabilization efforts
  • Ensure accounting processes areoptimizedwithin NetSuite to supportaccurateandtimelyreporting
  • Support accounting teamslocatedin Philadelphia, Miami, and Los Angeles
  • Build strong working relationships with business unit leadership to understand operational needs
  • Serve as a bridge between business units and corporate finance to ensure alignment and responsiveness
  • Travel as needed to support team integration, system transitions, and process improvements
  • Maintain strong internal control environment and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and team capabilities
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned


Experience & Qualifications




  • Experience leading ERP implementations or major system transformations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and process transformation
  • Strong communicationskills with ability to work across business and technical teams
  • Ability tooperateeffectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include overtime, nights,weekendsand holidays asrequired
  • Ability to Travel (less than20%)
