We are looking for a Senior Commercial Loan Officer to join our team! The salary range for this position is $96,137.75 to $120,172.19 based on skills and experience. This position is classified as On-site.
Role
The Senior Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for sourcing, developing, and maintaining high-quality commercial loans while helping manage the commercial portfolio and providing mentorship and oversite to other commercial lenders. This role involves evaluating loan applications, gathering and analyzing financial and related data to assess overall creditworthiness, structuring loans that meet the member's financial objectives while safeguarding the Credit Union's interests, and ensuring adherence to the Credit Union's lending policies, guidelines, and federal regulations. Major Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development and Client Acquisition * Prospecting: Actively identifying and soliciting new commercial clients with the intension of developing and gaining their business. * Relationship Management: Maintaining long-term partnerships with existing clients to ensure their financing needs are met as their businesses grow. * Networking: Building a referral pipeline through centers of influence, such as CPAs, attorneys, and real estate brokers. 30%
Leadership and Strategy * Mentorship: Guiding Junior Loan Officers and Credit Analysts in best practices for business development and financial analysis. * Loan Committee Presentation: Presenting large or complex loan requests to the Board of Directors or Credit Committee for approval. * Market Strategy: Providing input on local economic trends and helping the Credit Union adjust its lending products and rates to stay competitive. 10%
Credit Analysis and Risk Management * Underwriting Oversight: Evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers by analyzing financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections on am as needed basis. * Risk Grading: Assigning appropriate risk ratings to loans and ensuring they comply with the bank's internal credit policies and federal regulations. * Structuring: Designing complex loan structures-including terms, interest rates, and collateral requirements-that balance the client's needs with the Credit Union's risk appetite. * Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. 10%
Portfolio Maintenance * Monitoring Performance: Reviewing annual financial statements and conducting periodic site visits to ensure the business remains healthy. * Delinquency Management: Identifying early warning signs of credit deterioration and working with the Accounts resolution team if a loan becomes troubled or shows signs of distress. * Renewals and Extensions: Managing the maturity of existing lines of credit and term loans Knowledge and Skills
Experience 5 to 10 years of Commercial lending experience. SBA 7a lending experience preferred. Demonstrated sales driving, relationship management, and results driven experience. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES Education/Certifications/Licenses Undergraduate or equivalent experience. Interpersonal Skills Customer service, Written and Oral communication skills, negotiation skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines. Physical Requirements Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various complicated written and oral instructions.
